Last September, American Express, like every year, hosted a Card-member show-only featuring Rachel Zoe; of which I had the opportunity to attend. Looking into attending future fashion shows I stumbled upon this years runway show, CH Carolina Herrera.
Carolina Herrera is synonymous with New York and modern femininity. The Venezuelan-born designer launched her highly successful ready-to-wear label in 1980. With each new season she is constantly evolving while staying true to her classic sensibility, which has made her a red-carpet favorite of stars like Renée Zellweger and January Jones.
With Valentines Day coming up, thoughts are turning to love and romance. With the absence of a significant other in my life, what better way than to spend valentines day but rekindling my love affair with myself.
On February 14, Valentines Day, I have a date with myself and the editors of Harper’s Bazaar, an evening of cocktails and fashion at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. On my own, I will be attending an exclusive CH Carolina Herrera runway show in partnership with Harper’s BAZAAR featuring the Spring 2013 men’s and women’s collections. Is there anything more romantic than an evening in the tents of Lincoln Center romancing yourself? I think not. If there’s no other option than to go alone.
Some Cardholders are also invited to a private shopping experience immediately after the show,at the CH Carolina Herrera flagship boutique on Madison Avenue, NYC. Need I say more? So I tell myself, with no man to outspend you, go ahead, SPLURGE, why not? I’ll be spending an evening with the most special person I’ll ever be blessed to meet: myself.
How? One word: Plastic.
Although Fashion Week is exclusively only available to members of the press and fashion industry, American Express offers Cardholders an insider look at Fashion Week. American Express cardholders can get access that’s otherwise impossible unless you’re in the fashion scene: cardholders-only runway shows, designer meet-and-greets, and access to a swanky skybox lounge overlooking Lincoln Center runways.
How will you spend your Valentines Day?
