Silent Writter

I am going away to an unknown country where I shall have no past and no name, and where I shall be born again with a new face and an untried heart. ~ Sidonie Gabrielle

Pajama Pants See The Light of Day

This afternoon I went for a stroll in Fifth Avenue, with no intention of buying, I stumbled upon a pair of silky printed pajama-looking pants.  I immediately became unquestionably OBSESSED. And with the intent of just looking and not buy, I bought, not one, but two!

I can’t wait for Spring to come and embrace the look and see the pajama pants move beyond the bedroom.

I woke up  this morning to this wonderful little envelope, containing my ticket  for a date with myself on Valentines Day to the CH Carolina Herrera Cardmember-only show in Fashion Week.

You’ve Got Mail!

I just love waking up to mail and receiving packages.  Although the majority of times I know what it is because I order them myself, the anticipation that leads up to that of opening a new package is a major part of what makes it so exciting.  It feels like Christmas morning every time.

What’s in the box?

A Pair of Cognac, Sergio Rossi Leather Wedge Sandals.

“And the new strap is like lingerie. It caresses the foot around the ankle.” Sergio Rossi

It just sucks that I’ll have to wait until Spring to wear them.

But that’s not all. I received an email from Cynthia Rowley and guess who has an interview  tomorrow noon to intern for them? I do, I do. Wish me luck, guys!

A Valentines Date With Fashion Week

Last September, American Express, like every year, hosted a Card-member show-only featuring Rachel Zoe; of which I had the opportunity to attend. Looking into attending future fashion shows I stumbled upon this years runway show, CH Carolina Herrera.

Carolina Herrera

Carolina Herrera is synonymous with New York and modern femininity. The Venezuelan-born designer launched her highly successful ready-to-wear label in 1980. With each new season she is constantly evolving while staying true to her classic sensibility, which has made her a red-carpet favorite of stars like Renée Zellweger and January Jones.

With Valentines Day coming up, thoughts are turning to love and romance. With the absence of a significant other in my life, what better way than to spend valentines day but rekindling my love affair with myself.

On February 14, Valentines Day, I have a date with myself and the editors of Harper’s Bazaar, an evening of cocktails and fashion at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. On my own, I will be attending an exclusive CH Carolina Herrera runway show in partnership with Harper’s BAZAAR featuring the Spring 2013 men’s and women’s collections. Is there anything more romantic than an evening in the tents of Lincoln Center romancing yourself? I think not. If there’s no other option than to go alone.

Some Cardholders are also invited to a private shopping experience immediately after the show,at the CH Carolina Herrera flagship boutique on Madison Avenue, NYC. Need I say more? So I tell myself, with no man to outspend you, go ahead, SPLURGE, why not? I’ll be spending an evening with the most special person I’ll ever be blessed to meet: myself.

How? One word: Plastic.

Although Fashion Week is exclusively only available to members of the press and fashion industry, American Express offers Cardholders an insider look at Fashion Week. American Express cardholders can get access that’s otherwise impossible unless you’re in the fashion scene: cardholders-only runway shows, designer meet-and-greets, and access to a swanky skybox lounge overlooking Lincoln Center runways.

How will you spend your Valentines Day?

O post, o post, wherefore art thou post?

I just realized my second to last post Is nothing but pictures, no explanation. I had written nearly an essay on my experience interning at Zac Posen. Yet, somehow, it is nowhere to be found.

I think I can explain that.
That precise morning I was waiting in the airport to board the airplane to the Caribbean. I was headed to surprise my father for his birthday, whom I hadn’t seen in nearly six months. While writing my post to you guys, I was called from the gate to board the plane. Running on wifi, in exhilaration to get to the gate rapidly, I was not able to post the draft. I supposed that once I got to the Caribbean I would be able to submit and post the draft. And so I did. Well, I thought I did.

Where dis it go? I can’t quite figure that out.

Any-who, I am now watching the Golden Globes. So, tootles!

Surprise, surprise!

I have arrived in the Dominican Republic. The look on my dad’s face when he saw me was beyond memorable, beyond priceless. He stood paralyzed, in shock. He glanced at me with skepticism several times before he realized and believed that I was truly physically there. He recalled thinking he was having visions, hallucinating. He held me for a very long time, tears steered down my face.. It was mesmerizing.

Happy Birthday, daddy!

Internship: House of Z

Reporting for Duty, Mr. Posen!

My excitement is undefinable, inexplicable  Yet, I can’t help but also feel intimidated. For the next two days I will be interning for the extraordinary, American fashion designer, Zac Posen. Now, the internship will only be for two days. Its a temporary, four day internship for market week that will consist of dressing models, running merchandise to the showroom and running errands. Due to my unavailability , I am only helping out for two days. Non the less, what more can I ask for? Its a kick start in my development towards a career in fashion and enough to gain both experience and exposure in the field. However, I do, indeed, wish it was for longer..

Wish me luck!
